This is the website for the Amboseli Community Wildlife Tourism Project reflecting the work the Project is undertaking in the Amboseli ecosystem.  Our initiative matches the needs of the Maasai inhabitants with conservation of the wildlife with which the people have lived for generations.

The website shows the exciting developments taking place in the 5,700 km² ecosystem, and explains the interdependence of the people and the wildlife.   We show how the wildlife is the key to the prosperity of the communities and why the people themselves are the salvation of the wildlife.  Local Maasai people explain why the wildlife and the rural communities need each other for their survival.

It is an exciting time of change at Amboseli - change for the better but, as you will read, time is fast ticking away.
